I was browsing some websites and came across some info regarding a NEW dreamcast game that is to release in september.
Some info regarding the game can be found here http://www.dreamcast-scene.com/index.php/Main/DUX
I am personally happy to see that the DC is STILL supported among some developers.
Lets hope this release turns out to be an overall better game than Last Hope.

Nice but not an official release therefore I won't get (because I have enough officially released shooters). But its nice to see people still making games for the Dreamcast, between this and Wind & Water.

Wow this game looks like crap... Nearly like homebrew (although it's basically glorified homebrew). What, does any shooter released 25 years after Dreamcast's primetime get mad sales no matter how crappy it is? Triggerheart made me happy at least.

I'd buy it if it wasn't $40. |

I kind of like the look of those orange rock formations, but I've got a bad feeling about this game. I bet it turns out worse than Last Hope.
<benstylus> what crappy game from 15 years ago have you been playing lately?

They know that plenty of tools will pay near-retail price for their basement developed game because:
- It's on Dreamcast
- It's a shooter
- It's a shooter on Dreamcast

If they're going to make 2D games on the DC, why not make something that regular people would like to play. Perhaps a 2D platformer? |

I'm going to start developing Dreamcast games. My first game will be called "Obscure Shooter (sealed)" and will retail for $59.99. A limited edition version with a CD-R of the soundtrack will also be available for $79.99.

It doesn't matter how good it is, remember. Don't worry about nuances like animation or color. After all, it's going to be a 2008/2009 Dreamcast game. I can make the soundtrack if you'd like.

They should release it on PSN & XBL for $15 and make twice as much money. |

Even back when the Dreamcast was "current gen" people didn't buy Dreamcast games. What makes them think that they're going to buy this one? I pity the developers...really I do. |

How much do you think this cost to develop? Well probably $0, it was probably someone's hobby project that they're charging $40 for. This is how the homebrew community generally works though. Any $40 Atari homebrew game will have it's rom released

Aegis Wing isn't that terrible, especially for a free game. |

People did buy Dreamcast games for a good year and a half before competition, even more in Japan especially shooters. But DefaultGen is right. This is one guy doing basically a side project that'll he make both do for himself to have fun and make some money.
